Keystone Berwyn Volvo

Keystone Volvo of Berwyn, PA first opened its doors in 1957 and has been with the Stein family ever since. The dealership is now led by Ben Stein, the third generation of the family to run the dealership. He began working there in 1994 on weekends and summers when he was 14, but he got his real start at the dealership when he was even younger. He sat at his grandfathers’s chair as a young boy and told everyone that it would be his seat one day. While the chairs themselves may have been changed since then, Ben was right on the money about running the dealership.

Ben SteinBen has been working at Berwyn Volvo for 23 years now. In that time, he’s done just about every job there is to do at the store, starting from the very bottom mopping the shop floor on Saturday afternoons. Since then, he’s done a little bit of everything: mechanics, parts, painting, sales, and currently management.

Having been around the dealership since such a young age, Ben has witnessed a lot of change and has some great insight that he was willing to share with us. He recalled in 1993 when they got their first desktop computers. Berwyn Volvo was an early adopter of digital and embraced the shift away from the old-school paper mentality. Back then, when CRMs were essentially digital rolodexes, a lot of people wanted to believe that the internet was just a fad, but Berwyn Volvo never stopped looking to digital solutions to better serve their customers. They are constantly looking to see how their vehicles are priced relative to the market using tools like Vauto, assuring that their inventory is competitively priced.

Ben Stein, General Sales Manager, Keystone Volvo Berwyn

Creating a pleasant experience for customers during the handoff from online showroom to physical showroom is often something dealerships struggle with, but Ben and his team have an interesting way to deal with that problem! Not only do their shoppers get to customize their online shopping experience by interacting with 360 WalkArounds, the salespeople at Berwyn Volvo use personalized video introductions in their emails with shoppers who submit leads. This truly highlights their focus on customer service and creating a custom experience for each individual shopper.
